Our sister sculpture, entitled Canyon, is probably a bit more masculine, or macho, or...whatever. This one began (like many of our sculptures) with the question, "What if?" The base metal is, believe it or not, aluminum. Somehow the aluminum lends a glowing irridescence. To achieve all the natural-looking patinas and textures on this fountain, we had to: pound it with a variety of different hammers, run back and forth over it, twist it into weird contortions, then untwist it, shoot it repeatedly with special bullets, heat it, quench it, then hit it with strange chemicals. All that work just to get the "look" of something you'd find in a magical mine. Then...when it's all finished we cover it with optical Lexan so that the coloration remains just like the day you bought it. Hope you like it!
