As with all our sculpture descriptions, we try to tell some small truth about each piece... Most of our patrons and fans enjoy the peek behind the scenes. The Dancing Cow wall fountain began as random squirting when we were painting another fountain. The paint tube was clogged and the stream of paint came out oddly. Everybody came over and thought it was cool, and then it was promptly painted over. Later, I tried to recapture the look of the clogged tube and couldn't duplicate it. Hours later and lots of diddling produced the effect, but now we were all self conscious about the squiggles. A rookie would surmise that we just squished it out any old way. Believe me, there were umpteen versions of Dancing Cow before we got it in the right zone. That's how art is. Some of it looks hard and isn't. Some of it looks easy...and isn't. And then we had to name it.
What we've done is taken panels of high-tech acrylic... they're bulletproof, almost literally, and we color, stain, paint, and patina them on the reverse side with metallic oxides, iridescent paints, and sophisticated stains. The bottom of these fountains is a hand-made copper reservoir that is hand-patinaed with heat. The backside of the acrylic panel is painted and then sealed. The water flows down the front and consequently never comes in contact with the painted image. The sound of the water is magnificent! It's really a visual show of the first degree. In all of our water fountains, a standard 110v outlet is required for the quiet, long-lasting, powerful, adjustable-flow water pump that is included. All of our water fountains are re-circulating and do not need an outside water source.
