We almost named this, Leaf That's Really Chewed to Hell, though the genesis of this work was a recent walk in which a gorgeous leaf was handed to me, at which point I said, "Man that leaf's really been chewed to hell." Despite my knuckle-headed response, I did see the beauty in it and immediately dragged out the paints. What is weird about this one, depending on the lighting and time of day, it really changes color, from pure glowing gold, to autumn russets, to something strongly resembling a florentine tapestry. I have no idea why it does this, which makes this wall fountain really magical to me.
What we've done is taken panels of high-tech acrylic... they're bulletproof, almost literally, and we color, stain, paint, and patina them on the reverse side with metallic oxides, iridescent paints, and sophisticated stains. The bottom of these fountains is a hand-made copper reservoir that is hand-patinaed with heat. The backside of the acrylic panel is painted and then sealed. The water flows down the front and consequently never comes in contact with the painted image. The sound of the water is magnificent! It's really a visual show of the first degree. In all of our water fountains, a standard 110v outlet is required for the quiet, long-lasting, powerful, adjustable-flow water pump that is included. All of our water fountains are re-circulating and do not need an outside water source.
