This is a very new and exciting wall sculpture for us. Usually, when we finish a sculpture, we scan it to make sure it looks the way we want it, then press on to something else. This one was different. In the flesh, it's a real looker. Scaled-up to 30 feet by 30 feet and backlit, it'd be a breathtaking piece in a corporate lobby, or airport. And we're thinking of having an outdoor 3-D cube version of it for a high tech plaza, backlit and spouting water. This one opens a door to a whole new type of sculpture. Hope you like it!
What we've done is taken panels of high-tech acrylic... they're bulletproof, almost literally, and we color, stain, paint, and patina them on the reverse side with metallic oxides, iridescent paints, and sophisticated stains. The bottom of these fountains is a hand-made copper reservoir that is hand-patinaed with heat. To complete the look, a painted acrylic panel has been mounted in front of any copper parts . The backside of the acrylic panel is painted and then sealed. The water flows down the front of the middle panel and consequently never comes in contact with the painted image. The water does not flow down the surrounding pieces. The sound of the water is magnificent! It's really a visual show of the first degree. In all of our water fountains, a standard 110v outlet is required for the quiet, long-lasting, powerful, adjustable-flow water pump that is included. All of our water fountains are re-circulating and do not need an outside water source.
